Anne-Marie Laflamme

Anne-Marie Laflamme is the Secretary General of Université Laval. She is also a lawyer and full professor at the Faculty of Law, which she led as Dean from 2017 to 2025, after serving as Vice-Dean of Studies and Continuing Education (2012 to 2014) and Director of Undergraduate Programs (2010 to 2012). A member of the Bar since 1985, she practised labour law as a partner in a major law firm in Quebec City before beginning her academic career.

Her research and publications focus on the integration and retention of people with disabilities in the workplace, the impact of new forms of employment on health and safety, mental health at work, and women's right to equality in employment. In 2022–2023, she was a member of the expert committee appointed by the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity to study the handling of sexual assault and harassment in the workplace, whose report led to significant legislative changes.

In addition to her academic and administrative roles, Anne-Marie Laflamme has served on several committees and boards of directors, including the Québec Community Legal Centre and the Québec Bar. In 2022, the Quebec Bar awarded her the distinction of Lawyer Emeritus, and in 2025, the Christine-Tourigny Award of Merit, recognizing her outstanding professional career, social impact, and contribution to the advancement of women in the legal profession. She also received the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025, in recognition of her significant contribution to Canadian society.
